MetaMask(メタマスク) Security: A Guide to Protecting Yourself from Scams

Losses involving browser wallets almost never begin with broken cryptography. They begin with an approval the person did not understand. This guide takes apart the approval step — including the signature requests that grant permissions without a transaction — then works through the seven scam patterns that exploit it and the checks that settle each case in seconds.

In preparation

These are in research now. They appear without links because nothing has been published yet, and we would rather show an empty shelf than a page written to fill it.

  • Browser extension permissions: reading a manifest before you trust it.
  • Account recovery flows: why the reset path is usually the weakest one.
  • Phishing that survives two-factor authentication: proxy kits, and what actually stops them.
  • Reading a security advisory: what a CVE score does and does not tell you.

Why the list is short

Publishing volume is easy to manufacture and tells you nothing. We publish an article when its claims are sourced, its structure holds up, and it says something the existing material does not. That produces a small catalogue, which we would rather have than a large one nobody can trust.
